For two weeks, a group of Zurich youths, led by choreographer/dance pedagogue Sabine Schindler and social pedagogue Bettina Aremu, will be working on a dance project entitled wart schnell. "Wart schnell!", that's what we often say, meaning that we'll be ready, ready, or ready in a moment. But (how) does that even work, "wait fast" - does it contain a call for standstill and simultaneous action and thus a contradiction in terms?
In wart schnell the young people ask each other to wait for each other, to listen to each other, to take time for each other. A large carpet on the stage forms the central meeting place where the young people meet, hang out, chill, dance, listen to music, play games or have a pick-nick. In the course of the evening, the young people bring out unbelievable, beautiful, touching, sad, funny, absurd, bizarre stories from under this carpet, telling them in moving pictures and danced moments.
