In a series of listening sessions, two Other Planes of There artists invite once per cycle at Gessnerallee to sonically get together to (re)imagine ways of being together, figure out future alternatives and (re)connect to a diversity of life forms. We will experiment with a practice of listening that might help us figure things out and rediscover our earthly interdependencies. Throughout the year a variety of different artists, writers and musicians will collaboratively suggests sonic encounters to imagine what alternatives to current social relations exist. At the opening of the Gessnerallee Tracy September, Elsa M'bala aka AMET, Franziska Koch, Vivian Wang, Brandy Butler, Beat Keller, Vanessa Lorenzo, Oliver Keller, Ahmet Köken and Mina Squalli will improvise, experiment and reverberate together in a sonic circle of speculative futures.
In the words of poet and scholar Fred Moten we asks "how we can figure it out, work it out, to see how we can get out of this. And we are interested in the moment at which this transformation might begin to occure. In which you realize, that what we‘ve been trying to figure out how to get to, is how we are, when we get together to try to figure it out (…) and imagine what exists in a way that is more intense then the need to imagine what does not exist. (…) when we get together to figure it out, we are doing something."
ATTENTION: Limited numbers of seats, first come first serve.
COVID-19 Info: Mandatory mask, distance may not be maintained. Contact tracing via ticketing.
