The days are getting longer again. The evenings can soon be enjoyed comfortably outside with a glass of prosecco. The summer bar will open just in time for Juliette Uzor's premiere.
From 17:00 there will be drinks, hot BBQ and music from CEVINCIA and ANANDA JADE.
Cevincia (Singleton) is an upcoming DJ from Zurich, Switzerland. Born and raised in the city she was always surrounded by music and art. “Music was like an extra language in our family and inspired me in all sorts of ways throughout my entire childhood and as an adult. Music is and will always be my love and passion.” By mixing and beatmatching music varying from funk to house to underground electronic she most naturally found a way to express herself as well as unfold her creativity. As a DJ her aim is always to create relationships and the experience of a musical journey in its diversity.
Ananda Jade’s energetic DJ sets explore afro-diasporic club sounds while mixing them with house, afro-tech and baile. Her drum-heavy mixes speak directly to the dancefloor and make the audience want to move. Jade is also known for her artistic practices, which document a new aesthetic of Blackness, identity and hybridity through film, photography and journalism. She is also involved with the research collective HYBRID PROJECT SPACE, which investigates how art and cultural spaces can become more inclusive, diverse, and accessible.
If it rains, we will simply celebrate a week later on 28.04.
The Gessnerallee Summer Bar is open from 21 April to 17 July and 13 August to 24 September.
