Bryana Fritz and Thibault Lac take on the iconic figure of Don Quixote. KNIGHT-NIGHT decenters Cervantes' text in favor of a plurality of versions - notably Kathy Acker's 1986 text, in which the knight embarks on the most insane idea that any woman can think of, which is...to love.
The two performers bring together fragmented embodiments of Dons Quixotes, not forgetting the infamous sidekick Sancho Panza, sometimes friend, sometimes accomplice, sometimes horse. Identities slip. The narrative explodes. The audience, present on stage, has a sideways saddle onto this queer, feminist quest for the elusive, fleeting figure of a knight, under the flags of fiction and reality.
The performance can be combined with the performance My Sweetsland by Ubuntu Performance Theatre.
Following Saturday's performance, there will be an Artist Talk moderated by Joshua Wicke.

GESSI LOVES!
Knight-Night is spectacular. Two absolute stunningly virtuous dancer-creators visually re-tell the story of Don Quijote as it was re-told by Kathy Acker adapting Cervantes Novel adapting the by then trendy genre of the Chivalric romance. In three rich tableaus they touch upon topics that are too big to handle: like Love or Death. Thus also embracing the „queer art of failure“ they always elegantly balance the border between fiction and reality.
