In TELE(YOUR)VISION, her first long piece, dancer and choreographer Sarafina Beck focuses on derealization and depersonalization. She herself is affected by these mental illnesses, which can occur as a side effect of anxiety, stressful situations, sleep disorders or trauma. In TELE(YOUR)VISION Sarafina Beck translates her everyday confrontations with her own perceptual disorders into different artistic forms of expression, primarily letting dance speak for itself.
In the context of this interdisciplinary solo dance theater, Sarafina Beck presents the different states that are triggered by her perceptual disorders and focuses primarily on the inner experience.
The audience is to be immersed in this state of mind and therefore be able to empathise with the emotions experienced by those affected. The spectators become part of Sarafina Beck's confrontation because, in the absence of a spatial separation, they have to deal with it themselves and have to find their own place in it.
