After their show in the framework of Les Urbaines, Viní Ventania and Vitória Jovem aka Irmãs Brasil, will stay in Switzerland to gather forces with the Zurich ballroom scene. After a presentation of their performance “Eunocos”, that develops an experimental practice of freedom in the clash of dance, theater and performance, Ivy Monteiro (House of Poderosa) will host «Cook Out (community get together)» at Südbühne in Gessnerallee and introduce their sisters to the Zurich scene. About Eunucos by Irmãs Brasil
In Eunocos, Irmãs Brasil, embody their will to exist beyond the technologies of colonialism and heteronormativity. They trace the poetics of trans-sisterhood and ancestry to create alternative narrations that resist violence. Manifesting their desire to live, they develop a fleshy ritual that also invites the supernatural into the space of the theatre to celebrate existences at risk. Irmãs Brasil are a double existence of trans artists, born into a family of rodeo drivers in Amparo, in the state of São Paulo. Their first artistic influences were her family: her father – a rodeo clown – and her mother – a drum queen.

The Kiki House of B. Poderosa a trailblazing Ballroom collective based in Zürich since 2019. Ballroom is an underground performative and dance focused social movement. Ballroom creates safer spaces for QTBIPOC to thrive, its origins are traced back to the 80’s and their essence is credited to black and brown trans woman from the USA. House of B. Poderosa keeps this tradition while also listening to what the needs of a new generation of QTBIPOC people coming to Ballroom nowadays. The House of Poderosa have been producing Balls, Workshops, Gatherings, Showings, Talks and etc with international prominent Ballroom members within the most renowned performance/dance Institutions in Switzerland.
