ABISSAL is a chant of deep water tongues reflecting the firmament, a celebration of souls. A solo sonic performance in which Panamby establishes a dialog with processes of care and mass mourning. From kalunga, the endless abyss of the sea where black people were enchanted during human trafficking, in escapes and exiles, to the abyss of deep black sky populated by other bodies and movements that make us up from a diffuse ancestry, in agreement with the mystery. It is configured as liquid darkness, blackout, voices sculpting labyrinths in time, disorienting perspectives, convoking blurred vision, becoming a dense and germinative immanent space in symbiosis with impossible creatures.
An offering of darkness to the eyes and a sonic dive through images revealed by the ears of the whole body. Omi, Emi, Ori. Water, breath and a bioluminescent head. Bones, fossils, ancestors buried in the ocean. Their voices resound. Hear the call and (un)fall asleep with me.
