Zurich artist Daniel Hellmann likes to dress up as a cow, and when he is dressed up as a cow, he calls himself Soya the Cow. And Soya the Cow invites you humans to a Gessi Generations family afternoon, where she would like to think collectively about animals. Why? Because we humans are animals too. And because we humans deal with animals every day, mostly without even noticing it.
There are animals that we caress and stroke. Others we find disgusting. And still others we eat, mostly without knowing how the animals were doing before they end up in our plates and bellies.
In this workshop Soya invites children and adults to a role play where the cards are reshuffled. Pets, wild animals, farm animals, fantasy animals, soft toys... What do all these different categories mean? And is it fair how we treat these animals? What kind of animal would you like to be? A tiger, a rabbit or a fish? How would it be if suddenly pigs were living in houses, eating cat meat and keeping people as pets? And can we also imagine a world in which humans and other animals peacefully coexist alongside and with each other?
After the workshop all participants* are invited to the Tavola Grande and can enjoy a delicious meal for which no animal has been tortured or killed.
