Young people from different neighborhoods of Zurich come together for two weeks in the Südbühne of the Gessnerallee and embark on a (dance) adventure together. The unifying element is the joy of dancing together. Under the direction of choreographer/dance pedagogue Sabine Schindler and social pedagogue Bettina Aremu, they will create a dance choreography entitled Nöimet Nienet Nüt.
The performance is part of the festival ZÜRICH TANZT. In terms of content, the young people deal with questions about the theme of home. What does home mean to them? Where do they feel at home and why? What stories, feelings and associations are linked to their own home? There is also an examination of the city of Zurich: the different circles in which they live, go to school, meet, prefer to stay, and which are virtually identity-forming for them.
Kids in Dance takes place within the framework of Zürich Tanzt. You can find the rest of the Zürich Tanzt programme from 3 May here. You can find out more about the Kids in Dance project on their website and their Instagram profile.
The performances will be live-streamed via Gessnerallee website homepage.
