Simone Truong's works blur the lines between art and life: They are an aesthetic experience and a social act at the same time. They invite us on a poetic journey into the interior, to encounter the world in a gentle critical way. Since graduating in choreography from ArtEZ HKA in Arnhem in 2007, Simone Truong has been working and living in Zurich as a freelance choreographer, dancer and curator. As an in-house artist at Gessnerallee Zürich, she most recently created In the middle of Nowhere - your absence fills the space (2019), (To) Come and See (2016), Question Triolgie (2012-2014), Overseas (2008-2010) and showed her pieces at international festivals. As a performer and assistant, Truong has worked with Jérôme Bel, Elpida Orfanidou, Cie Brandstätter/Gerbes, Philippe Saire and Liquid Loft/Chris Harring, among others. In 2011, she received the work contribution of the Canton of Solothurn as well as the recognition award for dance from the City of Zurich. From 2015 - 2020 Truong was artistic director of the festival "TanzPlan Ost".
