Designing the future and thinking the future must go hand in hand. Collectively we aim to conceive of a different future while designing and exploring these unknown territories at the same time. Salon Fütür invites you to engage in this process and much-needed discourse. No prior knowledge or specific experience needed. We think mindfully, curiously, with open minds and hearts and the outmost care.
Salon Fütür—for thinkers
Looking into the future may reveal at times a murky sight. It may even reveal to some a menacing one. In fact, it seems that the collective ability to envision a different, better, more just future has deteriorated. However, last year’s events have made it blatantly clear that new ideas are crucial. We want to invite you to leave reality and to engage with us in the contemplation of a new future! Salon Fütür is a space for unfinished, fragile and tentative voiced thoughts. A space that does not beg for output but a space that allows for gathering and sharing. Four times a year we collectively tackle specific topics. No prior knowledge nor particular experience required—only your readiness to embark.
Atelier Fütür—for makers
While Salon Fütür is a conversational space for envisioning a better future through interaction, dialogue and design, Atelier Fütür is its counterpart for makers. How do you contribute to a more just future? Do you desire to share your craft with others? Together with our partners we invite you to Atelier Fütür to build a seminal future, to explore and break with routine—perhaps to change the world bit by bit. Participating at Atelier Fütür does not require any prior knowledge. Everybody is welcome, especially those who are curious to do and make things differently.
Fütür instead of Future?
The future is an uncertain, murky mess that continually reveals new elements. The term “Fütür” reflects this somewhat remote yet accessible notion by being an in-between word that alludes to different languages and therefore appears to be “faulty.” We propose to engage with the future in a similar manner: to regard it as an in-between space perpetually stimulated by familiar and less familiar terms and conditions.

All courageous persons are welcome to the workshop. Together we want to make “books” out of the most various materials and with all of our stories.
