The parasite parasitizes, nests in foreign bodies and colonizes unknown areas. There it infiltrates existing systems and creates its own, new ones. How can parasitic thinking break with known structures? How and what arises from these breaks? We dedicate ourselves to the parasite on the one hand as a pest, on the other hand as an initiator* of change and co-evolution. What can we learn from this ambivalent concept for our cultural and social coexistence and how can we use it fruitfully?
With PARASITE the collective F96 creates a playground, a laboratory for artists and speakers from various fields. Starting December 1, contributions of various kinds will be published online, which examine parasitic structures and social movements.
For eight weeks, this temporary parasitic archive will grow and pulsate as an autonomous organism, flooded with immersive sounds and visual disturbances - up to self-dissolution.
We rethink the figure of the diva, question the possibilities of parasitic art and cultural creation and address the omnipresence of cultural appropriation. We learn from parasitic bodies and identities. Fragments of them find their way into foreign circuits and blur reality and fiction.
With: Angela Addo, Tonie Brunschwiler, Aga Pędziwiatr & Rafał Pierzyński / DIVAS, Lara Jil Dreyer & Yunus Ersoy & Josef Mehling, Jamira Estrada & Lhaga Koondhor, Sarah Farina, Regine Helbling & Eva-Maria Würth, I-vye, Noria Lilt, Miss Sheitana, Leila Moon, Fatima Moumouni, Paranoia City, Sally Schonfeldt, Deva Schubert & Juan Felipe Amaya Gonzáles, so sindse, Cinthya Soto
