Charmlore is a label and research project displaying contemporary commentary on post-digital matters of research in spatial art and music. The project comprises both curated events as well as scientific research and aims to provide a long-durational professional framework for artists and theorists speculatively engaging with the role of media in our economies of capital and faith. Charmlore was inaugurated with an opening event in September 2023 at Shedhalle Zürich, and is celebrating its third iteration at Gessnerallee on April 19. and 20.
This upcoming iteration titled Keepsake Of History will be a two day event challenging the notion of terminal architectures in spatial art and music. Within a stage designed and directed by Xafya Lovecraft, Charmlore is inviting into the aesthetic and spiritual folklore of post-historical works in video, music and installative art. Amongst others, Keepsake of history will be featuring works by Levin Stettler Brogli, E.N.C. (fromheretillnow), bod [包家巷], Dasychira, Golce, Heartcoregirl and PrairieF33. For this, Charmlore has the honor to nest in the premise of Südbühne for two days and transform it into a communal home, fostering emotional proximity and shedding light onto a faithful future.
Charmlore is an initiative led by Émonie Fay Chetwin; a Berlin based applied media theorist specializing on the notion of post-historical communicologies mediated by popular cultures.
